Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke at the Armed Forces Veterans Day event in Akhnoor on Tuesday, where he addressed the issue of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He accused Pakistan of trying to destabilize the region and urged the country to dismantle its terror networks or face serious consequences.
Singh pointed out that more than 80% of terrorists entering India come from Pakistan. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to take strong action against the terrorism that thrives on its soil. “The land of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is being used for terrorism,” he said, adding that India is aware of the active launchpads and training camps for terrorists in that area.
He warned that these launchpads are still operational and that the Indian government is keeping a close watch on the situation. “We know there are active launchpads in PoK, and we will take action when necessary,” he stated.
The Defence Minister also mentioned that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without PoK and highlighted the government’s efforts to connect the region with the rest of India. He praised Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for working towards this goal.
Singh concluded by addressing Pakistan’s attempts to influence the local Muslim population, stating, “Muslims have always stood with India and have sacrificed their lives for the country.” His remarks reflect the Indian government’s commitment to national security and unity in Jammu and Kashmir.
