In a tragic accident on Sunday evening, eight people lost their lives and several others were injured when a tempo collided with a truck at Dwarka Circle in Maharashtra’s Nashik district. The incident occurred near an Ayyappa temple around 7:30 PM.
According to a police official, the tempo was carrying 16 passengers who were returning from a religious event in Niphad to the CIDCO area. The driver of the tempo lost control and crashed into the back of a truck loaded with iron rods.
Some victims died instantly at the scene, while others sustained critical injuries. Rescue efforts were quickly initiated by police, fire brigade personnel, and local residents, who worked together to assist those affected in the congested area.
The injured have been taken to the district hospital and some private medical facilities for treatment. Authorities have warned that the death toll may rise, as several passengers are in serious condition.
