In a joint operation against illegal timber smuggling, the Shopian Police and the Division Forest Officer have seized a large quantity of illicit forest timber in the Keller area of Shopian.
Based on specific information about illegally smuggled timber, a team from Keller Police Station, led by SHO PS Keller, along with the DFO Shopian, conducted a raid at the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Khanday in Chowan Keller. During the search, authorities recovered 40 feet of forest timber.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and Forest Act at Keller Police Station, and further investigation is underway. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities and protect forest resources in the region.
