Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke at a school event in Jammu, highlighting the importance of education in shaping the future of a nation. He encouraged schools to use new technologies and focus on teaching both knowledge and values.
Sinha emphasized that in today’s fast-changing world, the most important skill is lifelong learning. He said schools should give every student the chance to create something new and help build the nation with their unique talents.
He praised the efforts of teachers and educationists who have contributed to the reputation of Jammu Sanskriti School. He noted that the main goal of school education is to spark children’s intellectual abilities.
Teachers and schools play a crucial role in building students’ confidence and encouraging them to learn new skills. Sinha pointed out that primary and secondary education are key stages in a student’s life when they learn decision-making and understand right from wrong.
The lieutenant governor presented seven resolutions for schools in Jammu and Kashmir. These include using digital learning tools, focusing on one-on-one mentoring, and offering hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom.
He urged teachers to share their life experiences, encourage problem-solving, and allow students to explore new ideas. Project-based learning should be a focus to help students apply their skills in different situations.
Sinha also stressed the importance of regular training for teachers so they can continue to learn and grow. He inspired students to follow the ideals of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, and take advantage of the National Education Policy 2020 to explore new ideas through independent thinking and creativity.
