The anticipation has come to an end as Kia has officially launched the all-new Syros in the sub-4-metre SUV segment.
This marks Kia’s third mass-market SUV, positioned between the Sonet and the Seltos. Today, the brand unveiled an intriguing list of features that will accompany the Syros.
However, the pricing for the new SUV has not yet been disclosed. Based on the available features, we anticipate the launch price to be in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
We expect Kia to reveal the price during the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. Bookings for the Syros will open on January 3, 2025, with deliveries starting in early February 2025. In terms of design, the SUV takes cues from Kia’s recent model, the EV9.
It features vertically stacked LED headlamps with DRLs, a clamshell bonnet, and a front skid plate, giving it a strong SUV appearance. On the sides, the vehicle boasts 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, body side cladding with silver accents, and flush door handles.
At the rear, it incorporates L-shaped LED taillamps and a rear wiper washer. Inside, the Syros showcases a new dashboard design that distinguishes it from other Kia SUVs in the mass market. Some notable features include a 2-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned center console that is visually appealing.
A highlight is the enhanced rear seat experience, with adjustable seating that allows for forward and backward movement as well as reclining options. To our surprise, the SUV also offers ventilated rear seats.
The Kia Syros is packed with advanced features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear ventilated seats, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, multiple terrain modes, and ADAS level 2.
On the safety side, it comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, disc brakes on all four wheels, and parking sensors at both the front and rear.
On the performance front, the Syros is available with two engine choices. The first is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT transmission.
The second option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, which can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the Kia Syros. Do you think it’s a worthy consideration?
