A tragic accident occurred on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway early Friday morning when a truck carrying chemicals collided with multiple vehicles and caught fire, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and leaving thirty-five others injured. Initial investigations indicate that the chemical load in the truck may have intensified the fire.
The incident took place in the Bhankrota area, where the flames rapidly spread due to the involvement of several trucks. Eyewitness accounts describe chaotic scenes as emergency services scrambled to extinguish the fire and assist victims.
Reports from the police indicate that the crash happened near a petrol station, causing extensive damage as flames consumed numerous vehicles.
A total of thirty-seven individuals suffered burn injuries and were quickly taken to local hospitals for treatment. Rescue teams are currently working to recover a body from a container that was severely burned in the blaze.
Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Gupta noted that the exact number of trucks involved is still undetermined, but efforts continue to control the fire and evaluate the situation.
“The fire has spread to several trucks. We are still trying to ascertain the total number involved. Some injured individuals have been taken to hospitals by ambulance,” stated SHO Manish Gupta. Fire crews are at the scene working to manage the fire, while traffic has been halted on the highway.
