Kulgam: In the Kadder village of Behibagh, located in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, five unidentified militants were killed during a military operation. Two army personnel were injured, according to officials.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of police, the Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF. They launched a cordon-and-search operation in Kadder village at night after receiving reliable information about militants hiding in the area.
As the armed forces moved towards the suspected location, the militants opened fire, triggering the operation.
In the initial exchange of gunfire, two army personnel were injured.
Eventually, five militants were killed in the operation. The identities and group affiliations of those killed are still being determined, the official said.
The search operation is still ongoing in the area.
