Srinagar: On Monday, police announced they had broken up a drug trafficking network and seized property gained from illegal drug sales in the Qamarwari area of Srinagar district.
According to a news release, Srinagar Police arrested two people involved in drug trafficking. They found a large amount of illegal substances with them.
The police team from PS Parimpora stopped an Alto car at Barthana Bund. Inside were Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, both from Babapora Barthana.
During the search, police found a significant amount of drugs. They registered a case (FIR No. 136/2024) under the NDPS Act at PS Parimpora. Both men were arrested, and their vehicle was seized.
These two are known drug dealers who sell drugs to young people. Arif Ahmad Sheikh has been involved in another drug case before.
The investigation revealed that Asif Ahmad Sheikh built a two-story house in Babapora Barthana using money from drug sales. This property has been seized under the NDPS Act for further legal action.
