MP Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi from the National Conference made a strong request in Parliament on Monday. He asked the central government to allow a one-time age relaxation for people applying for the Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector (JKPSI) jobs.
According to a news agency, Ruhullah said that many candidates have become ineligible because they are now too old due to long delays in the hiring process. These delays have prevented qualified and dedicated individuals from joining the police force.
Ruhullah highlighted that this issue has left many young people in Jammu and Kashmir feeling disappointed and unsure about their future.
He emphasized that allowing a one-time age relaxation would be a fair solution and help restore trust in the recruitment system.
“I urge the government of India and the Home Minister to step in and resolve this matter,” he said.
Ruhullah called on the central government to recognize the unique challenges faced by the youth in Jammu and Kashmir and to take quick action to address this problem.
