JAMMU, Dec 13: A senior BSF officer reported on Friday that drone activities originating from Pakistan have nearly ceased following the implementation of an anti-drone system along the Jammu border.
Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu frontier, D K Boora, emphasized that India’s technological advancements surpass those of its adversaries.
He noted that the country has evolved from using outdated weaponry to adopting cutting-edge technology and modern arms. In addition to a significant deployment of personnel, comprehensive technical surveillance is being conducted throughout the Jammu border, with plans for expansion to other regions across the country.
During a media interaction related to the BSF’s 60th Raising Day celebrations, Boora highlighted the sensitive nature of the border, which is under continuous observation through both on-ground manpower and technological improvements aimed at preventing infiltration.
He stated that drone activities from across the border have diminished considerably, with the exact reasons known only to Pakistan. Boora credited the successful upgrade of anti-drone systems along the border for this decline, indicating that the deployed technology is effective.
Boora remarked on the global evolution of technology, acknowledging that while terrorist groups may utilize advanced tools, Indian agencies, including the police, Army, and BSF, are also adapting.
He explained that advancements in technology benefit everyone and emphasized that any developments in Pakistan are met with corresponding upgrades by Indian forces.
He reassured that the government and armed forces are committed to remaining technologically competitive. On the issue of terrorists using US-made M4 carbines, Boora stated that there is no specific concern, as all firearms operate under similar mechanisms.
He downplayed the fascination with foreign weaponry, asserting that India has evolved with new, high-quality indigenous weapons. Regarding recent enhancements to BSF technology and armament, he mentioned that he could not disclose specifics publicly but assured that the BSF is equipped with the latest advancements, receiving full government support for timely upgrades.
