Kupwara, December 11, 2024: Today, the Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department of Kupwara sent off 38 farmers on a week-long exposure trip to Jammu, Ludhiana, and Kurukshetra as part of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) initiative.
The farmers, who focus on apiculture and mushroom cultivation, were seen off by District Agriculture Officer (Extension) Tariq Ahmad Mir and District Agriculture Officer for Inputs, Syed Mushtaq, along with various officials, trainers, and participants.
This program is designed to enhance farmers’ skills and knowledge by introducing them to modern techniques and practices in beekeeping and mushroom farming.
The itinerary includes visits to model farms, research facilities, and processing units, where the farmers will learn about hive management, bee breeding, honey extraction, disease control, composting, spawn production, and advanced mushroom cultivation methods.
The program will also facilitate interactions with experts, promoting knowledge sharing and networking to improve agricultural practices in Kupwara.
