Srinagar, DEC 06: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, experienced its lowest temperature of the season, reaching minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, making Friday the coldest night so far. According to reports, Shopian in South Kashmir recorded the lowest temperature at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department reported that Srinagar’s temperature dropped to minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, a significant decrease from the previous night’s minus 2.1 degrees Celsius.
Shopian was noted as the coldest location in Kashmir, while Pahalgam, a popular tourist spot, saw a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, known for skiing, recorded minus 4.3 degrees Celsius. Qazigund, often referred to as the gateway to Kashmir, registered minus 4.4 degrees Celsius, and Kupwara in north Kashmir noted a temperature of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius.
Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded minus 2.4 degrees Celsius. Importantly, there are no predictions of significant weather changes until December 16, with dry weather anticipated until December 7.
