At the speech UT-level function of ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ celebrations at Jammu Convention Centre which happened via virtual mode, Sinha assured that the Government is standing firmly to protect the rights of the tribal communities, promote and preserve their cultural and linguistic heritage and provide equal opportunities to them across all the sectors.
“My aim has always been to protect the interests of tribals and improve welfare of women and youth from the community,” he said. He went on to tell that how the Tribal communities have earlier never been the part of mainstream development Lieutenant Governor said for the first time their welfare has been kept at the centre of Government’s development agenda.
Sinha said the improvement will take place in multiple avenues such as Forest Rights Act, Pradhan Mantri Van-Dhan Vikas Yojana, Van Dhan Self Help Groups, Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana, allotment of 5 marla land to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (G) eligible landless tribal beneficiaries, new tribal hostels, smart schools and special scholarships among others.

During the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor honored the legacy of renowned freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, highlighting his vital contributions to the freedom movement and nation-building efforts.
He emphasized that Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas serves to pay tribute to this tribal icon while also celebrating the rich culture and historical significance of tribal communities.
