Amethi, Uttar Pradesh – More sad news has come from the Maha Kumbh festival, as two devotees lost their lives in a road accident. This incident follows the earlier news of around 15 fatalities at the Sangam site in Prayagraj.
The accident happened in Amethi when a fast-moving SUV crashed into a state transport vehicle. 9 people who were in a Bolero were injured in the crash.
Police arrived at the scene quickly after getting the news and took all the injured to local hospitals for treatment. Sadly, doctors later announced that two devotees had died, while seven others were sent to Pratapgarh district hospital for further care.
The accident occurred near Trishundi in the Ramganj police station area while the group was traveling to the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj’s Sangam late at night. All the victims are said to be from Siddharthnagar district.
Authorities have taken the bodies and sent them for autopsy, and they are working on the legal process to investigate what happened. The community is mourning the loss during this important religious event.
